POPE FRANCIS HONOURS MULLINGAR PARISHIONER

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Mary Geraghty, Sacristan in Gainstown Church as Pope Francis awards Mary the Benemerenti Medal, an honour bestowed on members of the laity for great service to the Catholic Church. It is a fitting recognition of Mary’s tireless commitment and service as Sacristan in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Gainstown, her continued support of St.

Colmcille’s National School, her contribution in Cathedral House, her volunteer work in the community, and her deep faith and prayer.
